Where to Stay in Nashville
Choosing the right home base can totally transform your entire experience, and Nashville's neighborhoods each have their own incredible personality—from the electric energy of downtown to the hip, creative vibes of East Nashville.

For a Cozy Getaway for the Whole Family (Dog Included!):
For an Entire Home in East Nashville, look no further than this Charming Eastside Retreat. With its spacious layout, thoughtful design, and a dash of Southern charm, this home is perfect for those who love to explore vibrant neighborhoods but also crave a comfortable retreat to unwind. Plus, you'll be just minutes away from trendy coffee shops, live music venues, and local favorites that make East Nashville so unforgettable! This is where we stayed most recently with the dogs and it was perfect for us and our friends, with the cutest backyard for hanging out.
For something a little more lively but still cozy, this Condo near music row has everything you need to relax, including a rooftop deck, pool, views of the city, gym and more. And it's a short walk away from the Gulch for great food and things to do.
For the Up All Nighters:
The Tempo by Hilton is the perfect spot for those who plan to keep the adventures going well into the night. This vibrant hotel is designed with a sleek, modern style and offers cozy spaces to recharge after a long day exploring the city. Located right off of Broadway, it's just steps away from live music venues, incredible dining spots, and an electric nightlife scene. I stayed here with a group for a 21st birthday trip and everyone raved about how nice the hotel was!
If you're looking for an Airbnb to accommodate a larger group together that's as close to the action as you can get, check out this Downtown Luxe Suite. Perfect for a bachelorette party or group of friends.
For a Romantic Getaway for 2:
Located right downtown, Noelle is this beautifully restored 1930s gem that perfectly blends historic elegance with stunning art deco design. You're literally steps from Broadway, and the rooftop bar Makeready L&L offers views that'll take your breath away!
This charming condo is right off the Cumberland river in North Capitol. The balcony overlooks the river, making it the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine. Plus, you're just minutes away from both Broadway and Germantown so the flavors and charm of the city are always within reach.
Your Perfect Nashville Weekend Itinerary
Friday: Arrival and Broadway Lights
Your Nashville adventure kicks off the moment you arrive! After checking into your accommodation and getting settled, it's time to dive headfirst into the city's incredible culinary and music scene.
Evening: BBQ and Honky-Tonks
Start your weekend with authentic Tennessee barbecue—this is a must. Edley's Bar-B-Que is a local favorite that I absolutely love for its smoky brisket and their famous Tuck's Special. If you're trying to stay in the Downtown area, another fantastic spot to try Nashville BBQ is Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint.
Once you're properly fueled up, head to Broadway—the heart of Nashville's nightlife! The street is lined with honky-tonks blasting live music all day and night, and the energy is electric. There's a reason they've nicknamed it Nash-Vegas. I usually just walk the street and pop in to whatever spot catches my eye (or ear). Here are a few of my favorites:
Layla's: A laid backndq1 honky tonk where you'll hear traditional country, rockabilly, and Americana music in its purest form.
Robert's Western World: This place is like a cathedral of traditional country music—it's where you go for that authentic, old-school Nashville experience that gives you goosebumps.
Morgan Wallen's This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen: A new and incredibly popular multi-level spot with great music and food.
Kid Rock's Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N' Roll Steakhouse: Exactly as the name suggests—it's huge, high-energy, and an absolute experience!
Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar: Offers bigger named live music and one of the largest rooftops on Broadway with views that go on forever.
Category 10: Luke Comb's bar at the end of Broadway is the perfect place for line dancing and live music. They teach beginner routines throughout the night and you can watch some seasoned pro's dance more complicated routines as well.
End your night like a true local with a late-night adventure to Hattie B's Hot Chicken. Be prepared for a line and some serious heat—their spice levels range from mild all the way up to "Shut the Cluck Up". I've never actually experienced someone try this but I've heard it's hell.

Saturday: Culture, Shopping, and More Music
Saturday is your day to explore Nashville's rich cultural landscape and discover these amazing neighborhoods that each have their own personality.
Morning: Coffee and Museums
Start your day at Frothy Monkey, this beloved Nashville coffeehouse with several locations that locals absolutely swear by. They've got incredible coffee, a full breakfast menu, and this cozy atmosphere that'll make you want to linger. For something really special, take a drive to Loveless Cafe—it's a bit of a journey but this institution is famous for its Southern breakfast and world-renowned biscuits that are pure magic.
Next, you'll immerse yourself in music history at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum—it's absolutely incredible and takes you on this amazing journey through the genre's past and present. Right nearby, the Johnny Cash Museum offers this intimate look at the life of the "Man in Black" that's really moving. For something completely different, stop by Ole Smoky Distillery for some moonshine tasting right in the heart of the city - it's a fun time and you get a pretty good amount of moonshine for $10!

Afternoon: Picnic at the Park
Grab some delicious sandwiches from Bill's Sandwich Palace and head to Shelby Park in East Nashville. This gorgeous urban park offers beautiful green space, peaceful walking trails, and the chance to unwind by the Cumberland River—it's the perfect breather between adventures.

If you want to stay closer to Midtown/Music Row, Grab sandwiches at 51st Deli West End and walk around Centennial Park. They have a replica of the Parthenon that you can sit by and get some unique photos with and if you go inside it, there is a small art gallery as well.

Afterward, make your way back toward Broadway for some souvenir shopping or to enjoy one of Nashville's incredible rooftop bars. I always think it's good for a first-timer to see Broadway at night and also during the day since it's such a different experience.
Boot Shopping: If you're looking to buy a pair of quality cowboy boots - this is the place to be! Check out Boot Barn, Boot Factory Outlet, Betty Boots, or Big Time Boots for a wide selection.
Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk: Garth Brooks' massive new bar offers multiple floors of music and a rooftop overlooking broadway for people watching.
Lookout at Ole Red: Blake Shelton's bar features this popular rooftop space with live music and amazing views of the Broadway strip.

Evening: Fun Dinner Experience and Pubs
Mangia: For a super unique and interactive dining experience, check out Mangia. They host an unforgettable Italian dinner where the staff performs lively singing and dancing throughout the evening. You’ll feel like you're part of one big Italian family, and the food? Absolutely divine! Indulge in homemade pastas, savory sauces, and delightful desserts while being entertained—it's a dining experience unlike any other.
If you're looking for just a cool spot with good food, Pelato and Luogo both have some of the best pasta and Italian food in Nashville.
One of my favorite hip spots to eat is Butcher & Bee. They have a cool eclectic urban interior and a seasonal menu but their whipped feta with fermented honey always hits the spot.
For a more casual spot, Hawker's Asian Street Food is truly so delicious, they have such a variety of different asian favorites you really can't go wrong. They're most poopular dish is the Roti Canai and it's so good I had to get 2 for myself.
After dinner, it's time for another incredible round of Broadway's famous bars.
Sunday: Brunch, Boutiques, and Blissful Sips
Spend your last full day savoring a slower pace with incredible brunch, unique shopping, and a relaxing day at a vineyard.

Morning: Biscuits and Murals
Brunch is practically a Nashville religion, and you're in for a treat! Head to Biscuit Love in The Gulch for their famous "Bonuts" (biscuit donuts) and these creative Southern dishes that'll make your taste buds dance. While you're in The Gulch, take time to explore the trendy shops and definitely snap a photo with the iconic "What Lifts You" wings mural.
For more amazing shopping, the 12 South neighborhood is absolutely essential. This walkable street is lined with this perfect mix of national brands like Madewell and incredible local boutiques such as Draper James (Reese Witherspoon's store) and White's Mercantile—you'll find treasures you can't get anywhere else.

Afternoon: Wine and Music in the HillsHere's where the magic really happens—escape the city for an afternoon at Arrington Vineyards! Co-owned by country music artist Kix Brooks, this beautiful vineyard is about a 40-minute drive from downtown and it's absolutely worth every minute. Pack a picnic, buy a bottle of their incredible wine, and relax on the hillside while enjoying their "Music in the Vines" series—it often features live jazz and bluegrass that perfectly complements the stunning scenery.
Evening: Final Flavors and CocktailsFor your final dinner, treat yourself to modern Italian cuisine at V Modern Italian or experience the refined atmosphere and incredible craft cocktails at The Patterson House—this speakeasy-style bar has an extensive and creative drink menu.

End your trip with one last dose of live music that'll give you chills. For a more intimate setting, check out The Local Nashville or Losers Bar & Grill—these are two spots that musicians and locals absolutely love for their authentic vibe away from the main tourist areas. It's the perfect way to experience the real Nashville.
